Photographer Ken James has accumulated over 15 years of photojournalism experience. His images capture firsthand accounts of dynamic events across the globe.
Ken spent his early career in his hometown of Sydney, Australia, with the Fairfax Newspaper Group, which includes national newspapers such as the Sydney Morning Herald, the Sun Herald Newspaper, and the Australian Financial Review. Ken covered national news and events, varying from federal and state elections, to Australian Fashion Week, and the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. After moving to California in 2002, Ken worked for US newspapers and magazines including the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Examiner, Newsweek, Time, and Wired Magazines.
Ken covers major breaking news stories as well as special interest assignments. He documented the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and reconstruction of New Orleans after returning from six months spent covering the war in Iraq as an international correspondent. Ken also photographed current events and daily news in Australia, and later produced weekly photo-essays documenting the lives of San Francisco residents.
Ken has worked as a photographer for various wire services (Associated Press, Reuters, United Press International, Bloomberg Financial News, Corbis, and Getty Images). Corporate clients, including Amazon.com, California Museum, and Hard Rock Cafe, trust Ken to provide quality work. He draws from both his editorial and wire services experiences to publicize events for corporate clients.
